A team of 25 Dominion employees spent a day with us and the Westmoreland County Parks recently, and made a tremendous positive difference on our campus.
In Ann Rudd Saxman Nature Park and around GreenForge, these hard-working volunteers used hand tools and earth-moving equipment to maintain and freshen rain gardens; create a new channel to manage stormwater from parking lots and reduce erosion; excavate a walking path and a pad for a storage shed; restructure a head wall on a bridge; widen the pathway to a trail; and weed, prune and mulch the foundation landscape.
In addition to their generous donation of employee time and labor, the company also donated about $2,500 worth of material, including mulch and rip rap.
Among the hard-working volunteers was Diane Leopold, president of Dominion Energy.
We greatly appreciate this generous gift!
